the tale of two tops

These tops are part of the reason I joined this group. The blue strip quilted one was finished several years ago. I've had the fabric for the basketball one for a while, but I finally got down to business and finalized a design, and then sewed it in Jan./Feb., hoping to have it done for Matthew's birthday (hence the BIG pieces). I look forward to learning how to machine quilt (which I'm about to try), arrange color, and make more complicated, smaller blocks, and some day, if talent allows :), I'd like to design a really artsy quilt, with blocks instead of applique.
Karen J.
P.S. I tried to sign in as a separate author but was unsuccessful. I didn't see the same options as Carolyn :) Any suggestions?

  1. I love the basketball quilt! That turned out so cute. (I guess I can forgive you for ditching ALL the meetings we have had so far to get it done ;) Click "customize" at the top and one of the tabs should be "permissions" if that doesn't work I will see if I can figure it out. (The panels seem different for my personal blog and this one so I have NO idea how it decides what to show you!) hehehe k.

  2. Here are more specific instructions. I logged out of my blogger account and started over using Kimberly's yahoo email, so this is exactly what I saw on the screen, and therefore what you should be seeing too.

    1) go to cursedquilt.blogspot.com
    2) click on "sign in" at the top right corner
    3) type in the yahoo account & password given in Kimberly's email
    4) the first thing it will take you to is the "Dashboard"
    5) In blue you will see a horizontal list that includes "new post" "edit posts" "settings" "layout" and "monetize"
    6) click on "settings"
    7) Now at the top in small blue writing you will again see a horizontal list that includes "publishing" "formatting" "comments" "archiving" "site feed" "email & mobile" "open ID" and "permissions"
    8) click on "permissions"
    9) In the middle of the page is a big blue box with white writing that says "add authors" , click on this.
    10) In the white box that appears (and has "invite more people to write on your blog" written above it) type in your email address. Then click on the orange button that says "invite"
    11) Click on the little blue "sign out" button at the far upper right hand corner.
    12) Go sign into your email account.
    13) You will have a message from blogger telling you that you have been invited to write on this blog. Click on the link given in the email and sign into blogger this time with your own email and password. This should bring you back to the Cursed Quilt Group blog where you can now start posting with your own ID.

    Hope that helps!

  3. thank you Carolyn! Part of the prob. was that it was all in Korean when I went to the website originally, and I'm not sure I would have figured out the whole "invite myself" thing. LOL

The Cursed Quilt Group actually meets in person, but we would love to have you quilt along in our online community. Please keep it friendly and supportive...many of us are beginners.
